Tough choice! Gee around this time she should know better, but honestly though, I would take the shred. She can be replaced, but the day on the hill will never come back.
I gotta go with mandingo. It depends. Am I looking at 12" of fresh powder and a weekend to shred? I may have to cop out and hope that either she will go with me or that she's quality enuff to understand.
Can't be torn in this one.... If there is fresh pow, I'll be at the hill. If you have a good chick she better know how to rip and be ready to go when the snow falls! Jeez.
I have read some of the replies after my last comment. My knees and last seasons crappy year tells me that I have fewer opportunities to catch epic pow days than I do to chill with a person I am with/seeing/married/dating or whatever. Again if the person cares about you that much and they know you are a shredder, there wouldnt even be a question.....Further more, in a society where people are on Zoloft, Lexapro and other anti depressing drugs, I cant begin to tell you people reading this how much joy riding brings to me physically and mentally. I am not a nut, but in that instance snowboarding transcends being just a sport. It is what you make of it.
Mandingo Is exactly right in his latest response!
When you are with someone you should never have to face being torn between
the hill or them. Snowboarding is a lifestyle not a sport. If they really know you and love
you they should never want to hold back from your passion.
And just like Mandingo said, snowboarding is a lifestyle and its not something we can do
forever. Our bodies can only last so long and while we can activly enjoy our lifestlye we want to
take advantage of the time we have to do so.
Snowboarding is a lifestyle not a sport.
you might spend your life with someone but don't let them take the stlye out of your life.
If the snow is a lifetsyle.. then why the hell are you dating a woman that thinks otherwise? If whatever sport I am into that transcends being a sport but becomes a part of who and what I am (a defining characteristic), I am gonna be wantin to date a woman that shares that same passion lol. Otherwise it would be doomed to failure cause I don't know about everyone else but I am not gonna give it up for anyone and I'll be 80 and u'll still find me doing whatever sport in some form. Life is to short!!
Jase you are - Right on! you need a chick who is down for your lifestyle - if she is gonna try and change yours style to fit hers... you're never gonna be happy untill you get to have the adrenaline of your sport back!
it just means that you will have to find the right person that is like you....it seems impossible...i knew that ! but i know now that there is people that do the same as you , you just have to look in the right place...do alittle researching before you throw in the "I GIVE UP LOOKING " towel.
HOLLY CRAP! EVERYONE STOP RIGHT NOW! I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!
When i was 18 i vowed "NEVER" to let a woman get in my way! Time passed by and it happened! the decision was made! I let a fricken girl separate me from snowboarding and payed with my life!...I would of already been sponsored and already been in the game....BUT, it happened..and now i have two sweet crazy kids! and im making best of situation on hand! and happy too i dont want to pass up.
But for those people that arent to that spot yet...please chose snowboarding...! if you really love snowboarding...then your other should respect that....she shouldn't make you choose between love and true love!.... I might be talking smack...but im just trying to voice my experience....YOU just have to dig deep to what mean the most to you and stick to it!
